What this is. Nodal Alpha is my independent research on power, grids and AI infrastructure. The AI build-out is a bet on electricity: who can get it, where, and how fast. Most analysis treats that as a line in a spreadsheet. I treat it as an engineering question, because that is what I was trained to do.
Who I am. I’m Ashkan Yousefi. I hold a PhD in electrical engineering, did postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley, worked in utility operations, and have an MBA in Finance.
What you’ll get. Sector notes once or twice a month, each making one clear claim with the data behind it. Company theses when I have one, with valuation, risks and what would prove me wrong. An annual letter each January with results against a benchmark, including the mistakes.
Disclosure. I invest my own money in what I write about and disclose positions in every post. I work in the energy sector, and I do not write about or trade any company where I have a business relationship or confidential information. Nothing here is investment advice.
